Dear Answer Lady:

What are the allowable limits to which a mother can go to punish the despicable little shit who is bullying her own blameless child? I mean, it’s acceptable for a mother, whose job it is to protect her child from all dangers, to do whatever it is she feels she needs to do to ensure that, say, that lard-ass creep Mike Warner stops shoving her delicately built son into the bushes outside their school every morning—right? Even if what the mother feels she needs to do is technically not within the law. In my opinion (but not in my husband’s, which is why I’m writing to you), I have a perfectly valid right to have this Warner creature’s legs broken (and I know just the people to do it, too). That’ll teach him a lesson he won’t soon forget! What do you think?
